Okay, I've been having some weird issues in 1.10.2 regarding tic rate.

On my SMP, I don't experience this, but on SSP, I do. Which is weird because normally it's the exact opposite.

I'm only running around 50-75% of my RAM resources, so it's not low memory issues, my FPS is rock solid where I told it to, but it's skipping ticks like they're popup adds or something.

Anyone else running into these issues?

What does your CPU look like? Are you maxing one core at 100%? If so there is issue. SMP is working because in SMP you do't have both the server and client running on the same thread.

I would also guess that its local hardware limitation. If not RAM then CPU as Henry just said. If SMP works it should be overload of something.

Hmmm... I'll have to check CPU cycles next time, that may well be it. If so, that's gonna suck, swapping out proc isn't as simple as throwing in some more RAM or upgrading your video card... however, my proc isn't exactly the best (anymore), so that could well be the problem. Mind you, it's not bad, but the per-core proc speed is only around 2.5GHz before overclocking, which isn't good for Minecraft.

Before Microsoft took over Mojang, I could run my mod pack on 32 bit Java and 512 MB RAM. Now? I need 3GB just to run vanilla, and apparently need a later generation proc just to get the damn thing to not chug. Bloody resource creep.

I don't think that's Microsoft so much as Mojang using a relatively new version of Java and dumping support for 'obsolete' versions. Blame Oracle :D

Also, there aren't many (if any) new systems being sold with Intel compatible 32-bit CPUs any more anyway.

So, it's official. An AM3+ processor is no longer sufficient to run Minecraft without chugging. I managed to drop the RAM requirements down to around 1.5-2GB, but apparently an AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8 core proc is simply not enough to run MC without chugging.

Seriously, there are no words to express my utter disgust.
