So i was busy using Industrial TNT to blast out an area for mine and my friends new storage room for our base, and 2 bees dropped, but they have no species at all, in my inventory they are just 'Drone' and 'Princess'.

Did the industrial tnt blow up a hive and cause some bugged out bees, or have i found some very rare bees?

Thing is, i've also checked NEI searching on 'drone' and 'princess' and they don't appear in there either.

Being underground, i suspect they are either rocky or valiant, but they have a white border around them.

As I recall, the white border is common when forestry looks and doesn't know what to do with a bee. Given that you got both princess and drone, it was probably a rocky hive that the iTNT glitched.

Have you tried throwing them into a beealyzer?

If it is indeed a bug, you might want to talk to Sengir (Forestry) or Binnie (Extra Bees) directly.

Beealyser changed them to Forest type.

They now have a weird [-] next to them, which none of my other bees have.

What's really really weird, is that i was at about y:55 and i am in shrublands. These are the very first Forest bees i've actually gotten from this biome, to me it says that the beealyser couldn't work out what to made them and so defaulted them to forest.

Yeah happened to me as well. The princess died eventually.

I'd say it's a feature. Bug bee => lowest common => schedule for removal. To make sure someone's not exploiting a bug.

The [-] is used by native forestry to show a bee that's been created by an alveary spawner (i.e. not made by worldgen), and so will die after a while.

It was used by Extra Bees for a bee that had an impure serum applied to it (meaning that they will die off eventually).
