Mac Sticking on "Building Terrain"

The problem is that I cannot create or access any worlds in any FTB Modpack as it freezes at "Building Terrain". I am on Mac OSX 8.2.0
and I have Java JDK 6. This has never happened before, and I didn't change any settings to make this happen. Any help?
