Hello everyone, I have been recently playing with Steve's Carts as I like the idea of minecarts doing all of my farming and sorting for me. My biggest problem is having my cargo manager take certain items out of a cart and put certain items back in.

Here is a picture of my farming cart.

He's a simple Coal Engine, Farmer, Fertilizer, Hydrator and Top Chest. He runs off of blaze rods (As I have tons of those things) and plants wheat.

Here is my Cargo Manager Setup.

The Blaze Rods fill up the engine, the bone meal supplies it with fertilizer, the chest pulls items from the cart(Like wheat and what not) and the water bucket is filling the hydrator with water. (All of the things are set to yellow as he passes the yellow side of the block - (http://prntscr.com/p22gi)

My main problems are these:
How do I make it so I can pull the empty bucket of water from the cart and fill it with a full one to keep the hydrator stocked.

How do I use pipes or tubes to pull items into and out of the Cargo Manager.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :) There isn't much on the wiki about SC2 yet.

I think you may be looking for the Cargo Distributor ... can look it up on youtube, i believe vswe (maker of Steve Carts) posted a video on how to use it

You can use Redpower to pull items out with a filter, retriever, or sorting machine.

If you want to pull empty buckets from the cart, you're going to have to edit a few things.
1. Change the manager so that all sides are the same inventroy.
2. The top left should be extract items from cart.
3. Make the next three add to engine, fill with empty buckets, add fertilizer. The cargo manager is smart enought to know which item goes where.

Or place your manager where the tracks touch two sides and use two advanced detector rails. Than you have two colors to play with. Add in the distributor and you can do pretty much anything, using the distributor with your pipes, the youtube video vswe does makes it easy to understand

I believe you need a cargo distributor, Direwolf20 used one in this episode:
It helped me when I was stuck.
