So I have a 36HP Liquid Fueled Steam Boiler that I've had heating up for a while. It has gotten to 956 degrees Celsius. I'm using liquid redstone (destabilized redstone) to activate my liquiducts to pull the steam. the redstone affected my aqueous accumulator and caused the water supply to cease without my knowledge. The steam wasn't going anywhere to power anything so I never realized there was a problem until going to power something and noticing the steam wasn't refilling.

So the boiler is nearly completely heated and has no water. Is there any way to keep it at a decent heat without it blowing up and add water (I'm open to cheating at this point)? Or do I just need to break a piece and start over heating it (fuel is not a problem)? I would rather not have to wait for it to cool.

For now I am going to break a piece to start over heating it, but I have the save backed up for safe measure and in case there is a better way presented quick enough.

you did the right thing, because there was no other option except supply water to it and watch fireworks.

Haha thought so. After backing it up, I actually did that to see the fireworks. The explosion was much smaller than I expected. Like as small as a creeper or tnt explosion.

would've been nice if the explosion size is related to the size of a boiler, with the smallest boiler causing a tnt explosion and the biggest boiler... well, let's just say you'd be living in a nice hole afterwards

Tartarus.. I mean at work. Same thing really.
I've blew up a boiler or too in my test world;

Unfortunately it didn't look like that- its more like the mini TNT from AE. Very underpowered and disappointing.

BTW- boilers only pop around the 200-250 mark, so you can shut off the fuel and cool it down
(takes time- but saves a fair bit fuel as you skip the energy hog stage reheating it)

I also want to see a player getting blindness, slowness and poison effects when they're too close to the boiler explosion and actually managed to survive it

By-product release of the fuel would make more sense than that. And that makes little sense ._.

i dont i think it would make much sense to explain my attempt to joke, however i also dont understand thing with poison in a serious way either.

Something like "heavy" metal. As in being crushed by the heavy metal, I presume?

close. i actually was referring to possible shrapnel.

heavy metals like lead are toxic.
it has nothing to do with actual toxicity of heavy metals. i attempted to joke in same way as "acute lead poisoning" because iron also used for creation of bullets and falls into heavy metals category.

it seems i had to explain it after all >_>

well, damage would make more sense, but seeing as you already have taken a good hit from the explosion, damage would just be too much, so I mentioned poison, it brings you down to half a heart, but you live.

Minecraft doesn't have a "bleeding profusely" status effect, so poison is the best we have.
