Starting a small server

Hello, Im looking to setup a small group of people wanting to play ftb in a smaller smp type environment. Ive played with most tech mods for hundreds of hours and still love it, but the one thing I hate about smp is the lag and being worried about griffers. So me and a friend have been playing on a server I setup but with just two people it fells more like ssp. I'm only looking for maybe 10 people to be white-listed. There will be no banned items or limits to what you can do, within reason. It will be a non pvp server and will have Greg tech will ether disabled or the ic2 recipes will remain unchanged. It will be dedicated also and be up for a few months, just depending on how active it remains. If your interested just send me a pm or leave a post here. All I ask is that your mature and fell like you'll be around for a while. The server will go up once red power comes out and ftb is updated. Its up for the time being but I will probably reset once it updates, and stay on that map for a few months.

PS, Didn't want to make this in the smp section as I want it to be small closed group of people, not your avg server.

I'd be tempted to participate. I've been running on a small private server at home (tends to increase my performance, if I can offload the world licks to another machine), and sort of gotten to the stage of needing a sorting machine/system, and not wanting to do a BC diamond pipes thing. The only changes I've made to the config was to remove GregTech (for obvious reasons) and to remove factorisation (wasn't too fond of the excessive silver, and didn't end up using much of it, anyway).

I'd be willing to try a collaboration thing.

Sure, your welcome to join. Ive got you white-listed and you can join the server with the ip 199.58.185.152. I'm not sure if the map it on now will be used once they update so keep that in mind. I want to keep the map but slow talked like we might not be able to. If you join the ts server and rightclick on the minecraft channel and go to file browser and you'll find any configs you need in there. As right now I have greg tech on but not all of its changes and ic2 ore generation it on as we were having issues with just forestry's. If the map is reset I'll likely turn off all greg tech ores from generation except for bauxite and leave just ic2s ore generation on.

Sure, just connect to ts and grab the two config files from the mincraft channel (just right click on the channel name and go to file browser) and place them in your config folder. The servers ip is 199.58.185.152.

Hmm, I don't think the server likes me very much. I started doing a bit of exploring this morning, and figured I'd take a look at where the twilight forest portal lands you. Turns out it's in a cave underground surrounded by monsters. And jumping back in the portal doesn't seem to take you out of the forest. So, I died. A lot.

As I had no hope of finding to portal again, I thought I'd make a mystcraft descriptive book, and try age-hopping until I found a star fissure to get me back to the overworld. That way I could actually start a base and begin climbing the tech tree. The first world appears to be an eternal night, charged, nauseous age. I died quickly, and can't even look at the screen long enough to gather the resources to make an escape book.

I'll wait until someone else is on so they can come rescue me.

I'm a positive community member who is polite and hasn't been banned a single time. I like the feel of small community servers because they allow you to freely and easily interact with everybody there rather then servers with loads of people online at one time. Working together is much more fun then little separate bases where little happens.

I am interested in joining as I don't really like public mods that use commands and plugins like /spawn and have many people online, I want to experience FTB like a Mindcrack similar community where I hop on and everything's vanilla etc. No worries of stealing or anything, hook me up if you need more members.

My IGN is called Vigleiven but I've played on a private whitelist server and everybody's calling my Bartender there so it should be fine. The server where I played had all the people over 20 years of age except me. I got a slot there by winning a contest which was very lucky of me. I played there as an active played until I got fed up with vanilla, I had an iron golem farm going, double chests full of diamond tools, built an awesome base and all, but the others always had work and weren't very active. I'm not seeking to experience the game on another level which is mods and all that fun stuff, would be fun!

I added books back to spawn at both twilight portals and one at the spawn of your unstable age, next time just make sure to have a book with you to spawn or your base.
