Starting a server

Hello, gamers! I was thinking of starting a new FTB server at the beginning of next year(2015). I was wondering what you guys think about:
1) What mod pack I should use
2) What items and/or mods should I disable or ban
3) What plugins I should use
4) What donation tiers should I have
5) If I should keep my soon to be server SMP
6) Anything else
