Hello!

As the topic says i would like to know if they are already using standarized configs among the new 1.4.6 packs.

If so i would start playing with the DW20 pack, and then switch to a more suitable (for my tastes) pack.

That should be possible without any losses right? (i realize mod variation can cause losses, but no block id conflicts and such)

Thanks

Just tried to add advanced solars to DW20 using the mindcrack configs and it has a block id conflict, so they are either not using the standard configs yet or mindcrack is a special case....[DOUBLEPOST=1356349914][/DOUBLEPOST]java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Slot 650 is already occupied by cpw.mods.compactsolars.BlockCompactSolar@19683ed when adding advsolar.BlockAdvSolarPanel@af6c9b

Why would you want both? They do pretty much the same thing, just in different ways. I don't actually know if CompactSolars is the problem though, just test removing it and see.

Yes, it works (at least server started fine).

Its weird, while i certainly dont see a reason to use both, it could be a matter of preference, i could want to load DW20 worlds for example, and not have his compacts replaced with my advanced solars....

In any case, i think i got it to work, thank you very much :)

Compact Solars and Advanced Solars are probably the only two mods at the moment which share the same block ID. This is because you normally only have ONE of them as they both do the same thing.

This way you are able to just switch mods and you will not loose your solars. They will get replaced by the new mod ones :)

I didn't really check. I got an id conflict error, and when I removed Traincraft from the Direwolf20 pack, it worked just fine.

Just tested it myself. Looks to be the forestry beehive taking up slot 250 is conflicting with traincraft's Petrol Ore block.[DOUBLEPOST=1356356018][/DOUBLEPOST]Ohhh looking at it a bit more closely. The config files do have different block ids. traincrafts petrol block is set to 246. It seems that since most people are just loading in the mod manually it gives the default config and not the config that FTB has standardized. If you copy and paste the configs for the mods you are using it should work fine.

This would explain why it works when you use the mindcrack as a base since both the direwolf and mindcrack pack use the same forestry config, but when you install traincraft to direwolf it doesn't since you are bringing in the mod without the standardized configs.
