a huge slime (embiggening syringe) could spawn 4 big slimes, each spawning 4 mid size slimes, each spawning 4 little ones. 4 * 4 * 4 = 64 max. same with magma cubes
I was under the impression that magma cubes only split into twos, but the green slimes split into fours

The idea is you have to think of something else to get a source of mob essence. I'm assuming the idea was a vanilla spawner trap with grinders to get the essence, but there's other ways with mods out.

I'd hazard that the intended design was using the rest of the mod pack, i.e. the MFR breeders etc.

A cow/pig/sheep/chicken farm will give you your mob essence. (Maybe a small one will not give you enough to power it constantly but I'm sure multiple or LARGE will allow for this).

nope. according to the wiki, they will split into 2-4 smaller units. might not happen as often as green slimes do, but you could end up with 64 tinys if the dice rolls in your favor.

Then, am I correct to say that with the Huge Slime in an Auto-Spawner on Exact mode could net me 6400mb of mob essence per 500mb spent?
it could, but its more like 3200-4000...its very rare to get a full 4/4/4 spawn. i tried a few single spawns with an auto spawner on a switch. oh and dont try a soul shard spawner with a grinder room....youll never be able to keep up with the soul spawner. even with 8 grinders, it was quickly overwhelmed...youll just have 100's of little slimes running around the floor ;)

Sorry to bump up this necro, but I want to clear up something that is incorrect. Spawning slimes/magma cubes with the MFR Auto-Spawner and killing them with the grinder, they do NOT split into more slimes/cubes. Once the grinder kills the slime/magma cube no matter what size it is, it is gone. No little ones. I had this idea after hashing out my design and found out it did not work. So I put vanilla spawners at the top of my structure (with drops and conveyor belts guiding them down safely) and 50 (yes 50) nether portals using the same conveyor system to take advantage of the random pig men spawns from them. Of course, I need to be near my structure for this though but it's free essence to use for the spawner which I mostly use for endermen, ghasts, wither skeletons and magma cubes.

So I have found some vanilla spawners, that's ofc great an all. But is there anything that can make them spawn even if im not present? A chunkloader does not work it seems. Sorry for any wrong spelling.

I think the RotaryCraft spawner controller can make a spawner work even if the player is far away. Not 100% sure though.

Another tip/trick : if you have Jabba installed, you can pickup and move vanilla spawners with the diamond dolly. They don't require mob essence.

However, you still have the vanilla 128-block de-spawning mechanic to contend with.

I created a new world this week and was lucky enough to find an MFR 1-time-use net in an early dungeon chest and then very lucky enough to see a Witch on the map and capture her (!!!) within a few hours of playing. Can't wait to toss this Witch into an MFR auto-spawner.

Hate to be the bearer of bad new, but you'll still have to craft a reusable safari net.
