Have you ever wanted another level of complexity on your skyblock? Galaticraft offers that level. Players will no longer have breathable air and many of the objectives rely on creating a oxygenated environment. Returning to the overworld or nether will result in death. The pack is primarily a tech pack with gregtech to round things out. :)

I was thinking exactly the same thing, but also with an extra twist that there is no ex nihlo. Generating lava requires power to heat up that cobble. Using MineTweaker and ModTweaker, there are plenty of ways of creating resources in a more "technological/industrial" fashion compared to ex nihlo.

I also thought the player starts with a crashed pod on an asteroid that has a basic solar panel, electro separator (from Mekanism) to generate oxygen, and non accessible tank with some water in it. That gives you your first basic power and oxygen supply, but nothing really off use for the long term goals of the quests. Your first challenge will be to gather what resources you can on the asteroid (natural, and crashed bits of the pod), but you are in effect on a timer, as (using moon settings) the long night is approaching, your power will run out, no oxygen will be made (if your water reserves don't run out).

The quest delivery system could be styled after a device that once fed raw materials, it transmutes it into a choice of resources you may need to help you progress. The task might be to convert the asteroid into a functional starbase (or something).

I've never used mekanism so It would take me to long to find all the ramifications of adding it to the pack. Plus, I'm trying to make people use IC2 power. MineTweaker and ModTweaker are good suggestions and will allow me to add recipes for things that can't be obtained. It might be useful for adding some type of resource gathering somewhere between the beginning stage and the end game stage.

Also, I might be able to add recipes that require moon and mars resources. The player starts in the orbital station, but the quests may need him to make bases on the moon and mars.

Anyone know why stone saws in gregtech don't seem to be implemented. Am I missing something or are they really not implemented. I think it would add a little progression to the map. Edit: Actually I found another path for progression, but the saw would give a different path.

Anyone know if its possible to add quest during a playthrough and somehow transfer them to the starter map?

You're meant to use the alternate recipe with the nether stars.

I know Makism can run on eu, but it also has it's own power generation. Power is the limiting factor in gregtech. If makanism starts adding fission reactors that produce energy at a 100th of the price, everyone will start using them. Then the whole progression is ruined. I don't want to add a mod like thermal expansion because people are way to lazy. The average person will make 30 pulverizers before they make 1 upgraded macerator. I might consider disabling ic2 machines exploding or reducing the explosion force to minimize damage if I can find a config option. Adding a mod to remove terran dmg might help.

Remember, Minetweaker can change the recipes to any cost. So you could make GT style recipes for Mek.

Never been much into these special maps, but this does sound interesting.

One thing that I always wonder with these. Why is ComputerCraft not included? I don't think I could never play a pack that didn't have it(without adding it myself that is). And it would fit to perfectly into the style of the tech/space theme.

Golrith, thanks for your input. Perhaps if I get the time. Doing a playthrough while learning all the mods takes allot of time. Creating recipes and play-testing 10 recipes might be to much for me.

rhn, perhaps it will be added. I just got to get the core mods set. It is my personal opinion that fuel for turtles is way to generous. I haven't decided on a preferred mod for harvesting plants (mfr/forestry), but imagine the amount of crops you can harvest with 1 coal in a generator supplying a harvester. Now imagine the amount of crops you can harvest with 1 coal in a turtle. The first might be able to do a couple dozen, the second could do a couple hundred. I wouldn't add it unless I could seriously nerf the fuel for turtles. That is just my opinion and you can play with default CC if you want.

Ahh right, didn't think of turtles and balance. Was merely thinking of using computers for more advanced redstone controls.
The CC config doesn't on its own give a possibility of changing the fuel cost(only disabling it). But I have always found that the low fuel cost was offset by the difficulty with handling chunk load/unloading and reboots. So always used the more power hungry solutions anyway due to them being more robust to these things.

So either change the gosh-darned recipes or remove the energy generation module (power generation in Mekanism is actually in a separate mod). Amazing how ill-thought out you've proven your pack to be.

Please, no insults. I'm not going to commit myself to a mod that I barely know if I don't know if it can be finished b4 the deadline. It would normally take me a month to play through the Agrian Skies map and now I'm creating the map and doing a test playthrough as well.

One thing the wikis won't tell you is that no mobs spawn at the space station. I need to determine if I want the player to make a huge tree farm or add a recipe for bonemeal.
Edit: I created a small tree farm and it's been keeping me busy. I might add an chosen reward, either diamond tree ax or diamond pick ax.
