Soulshards soul-transfer?

So I was browsing the forums when I came across this post:

What I've done is to make a tier 5 slime shard (since slimes are VERY common near my base) and put together a simple slime arena. Then I went to the nether and just killed a few blazes. In the slime arena, almost fill up another slime shard using a top level vile sword, then use the anvil to transfer those souls to the blaze shard. Bang. Tier 5 blaze shard.

is that possible? if yes, how exactly?

you just put two soulshards in an anvil and you can transfer souls? (dont mean to seem stupid, it just seemed to good to be true so i had to check)

I think you can only combine soul shards from the same mobs. Like tier 1 + tier 1 = tier 2

No that is not true.

I made a zombie tier 5 and turned it into a endermen tier 5 with a soul shard with 1 endermen kill on it

This is a bug that will be fixed. It was meant to be something like what Arctic described IIRC

Also you can get a tier 5 shard with just killing like 15 mobs + the mob you want a soul shard off.
Basicly, Make a bunch of soul shards. One of them, Get 1 kill off the mob you want to have a soul shard with,
And then get 1 kill with a random mob on 15-20 soul shards. Then just start combining them in a anvil.
Be sure to always keep the shard with the mob you want on the LEFT slot.[DOUBLEPOST=1365618505][/DOUBLEPOST]

If you really still wanted to use it you could use Enchanting Plus. Simply remove the strict enchanting in the configs, enchant the shard with 1 kill of the mob you want with a level 1 enchant = 1 level. Then repair it = 1 level; then disenchant which means you get 1 level back.
