I did a search on the topic, didn't find any, ended up here.

Playing a 1.4.7 version, trying to make soul sand out of soulful wax (obtained from bees from Magic Bees). Unfortunately, the recipe seems broken, and the item received has id 88:4 instead of the regular 88 for Soul Sand, and the resulting item is bugged to the extreme (non-storeable, will randomly disappear, can only be crafted one at a time, etc.).

Is there a way to fix or work around this? This would mean either getting rid of the item data in game, or fixing the actual recipe. Maybe some limited item convertor block I could use? Adding mods to accomplish this is not an issue, and a welcome option.

Thank you in advance.

It's been a looong time since I played any 1.4 packs, but if you have MinefactoryReloaded you could try a unifier.

Get some normal soul sand from the nether, put it in the unifier and run your weird buggy type through to convert it to standard.

I'm currently trying to override the recipe with the custom recipes mod. If that doesn't work, I'll add a close-but-equivalent recipe. Will report back.

/gamemode 1 - go into creative mode
take whatever you need (E key to open up creative mode inventory, compass icon is search box)
/gamemode 0 - go back to survivial mode

that's what I do when I run into this sort of thing with bugs and errors. If you're on someone's multiplayer server it won't work tho (obv).

Well, I try to avoid creative mode. It's a drug man.
Anyway, overriding the recipe eventually DID work (with some tinkering). Definitely a solution I'd recommend for similar problems.
