Soul Stealer on Diamond Gone?

Hey, so I know the trick on how to put soul stealer on a diamond sword. I just tried it out, and it won't let me. The diamond sword lacks the enchantment I have on the vile sword... I'm just wondering if they removed this from the game? Also, can you still do it with repair?

yeah they removed it because it's quite a glaringly cheaty exploit.

I never understood why people wanted to put soul stealing on a diamond sword. I would have wanted it on a Thaumium Sword, or even better, Magicbane from Xeno's Reliquary(with a crap ton of enchantments and a touchstone of midas on hand) if I wanted it on something else. But still, the Vile Sword has good enchant rates, and isn't expensive to repair, which is why I don't understand what the big deal with soul stealing on a diamond sword was.

I just wanted to put Vorpal and Repair or Unbreaking on a wooden sword. :'c

I remember the first time I heard about it. I asked my friend, "Hey, what's vorpal do? It's on your sword in that chest"
He replies with, "oh, it has a chance to lop off heads."
And from there on, I knew I needed it. So I could wear my head on my head.
