Hi

I have issues to get my sorting system to work

I have it connected like this.... (where the issue is)

chest to put stuff in.
filter that sucks things from chest

pneumatic tubes from filter to another chest that is connected to several tubes (from machines etc.)
chest 2 connected to a filter and then tubes leading to a sorting machine
and then tubes in different directions

http://prntscr.com/sdr68

the issue is that my sorting machine and filter after chest2
is sometimes (not always), getting stuck.

i dont understand why
i need to rotate it with my screw driver to get it "un-stuck"

why is this?
after the sorting machine (picture)
a pipe goes to some machines, like ore is sorted to furnace etc.
so if a furnace is "full"
can this be the reason for the sorting machine to get stuck?
how to solve it in that case??

You could loop the sorting machine back to the chest (with restriction tubes, so the furnaces get their items first, and if there is no other place for the items to go, they get sent back. You could also simply put the sorting machine next to the chest (yes, it can pull directly from chests). That should also fix your problem.

well since the chest will contain things like cobble and other items in stacks
i dont want the sorting machine directly to the chest so it just pulls 1 item at a time.

My sorting systems pulls out stacks just fine, its all a matter of using the right mode on it. But you could just use the loop (will safe you a lot of messing around with your wires and stuff.

oh really... explain that more please

what mode to get a sorting machine to pull out a stack?

what do you mean by using the loop and not having a mess of wires?

This is my setup for my sorting machine (it pulls items directly out of an enderchest).

As for the looping: Just put a few tubes after the sorting machine leading back to the chest the filter pulls from (make sure you put a (few) restriction tube(s) between the sorting machine and the chest). What that does is making sure that when an item always has somewhere to go, which should fix the getting stuck of the sorting machine.

The mess of wires is just when you decide to switch to just using a sorting machine. If you move it, you'll have to rewire some things (blulectric cables etc.).
