Hello all, I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for solving a problem of mine. I'm in the middle of moving all of my stuff from my first base into my new main building/castle, and while moving my bees I have encountered what I can only assume to be a bug. They all say they are in a hostile environment, despite being normal/normal on their genome and in a birch forest biome, which is normal/normal. The problem was temporarily fixed when moving them from their old location to their new home, but it resurfaced after about an hour. Has anyone else encountered this? and how, if at all, did you fix it?

No ideas at all on that one I have never heard of it before, sitting here wracking brains cant think of any reason or work around beside moving them back to old spot, if you have a portal gun or interage mysthcraft books having bees in a remote location is not a problem if you chunk load it, the one thing you could do is give the bees +2 on both humidity & temp, as long as you have EB machines/genpool & DNA.

edit: aint the forest boimes 60/40 not 50/50, going to go check now, oh & you should really add the pack & version you are using as that matters some.

I'm using the DW20 pack, but as of yet, I can't do any of the extra bees stuff, because none of my bees are producing the royal jelly and pollen I need to make the last 2 machines. And the problem first appeared in the original spot, moving them to the new one fixed it for a little while, but then it came back...

Birth forest is 40/70, temp40%, humitity 70%, in the Api its always says normal then the %, its the % that matters 200 is very hot (desert) 20-0% is ice boimes, get the idea now ?, on the bee it will say normal (in your case) then mostly +1 or +2 this means a range of tolerance +2 is around 70% tolerance so +2 both is 70ish % tolerance over & under, this is what you need, bees with zero tolerance can only be used in the boime that fits exactly.

I hope that clears it up for you, but hey we are all new to something & learning as we go.

ps: I did check in th DW pack, plus checked in BoP too first :), its far greater range in the many forest boimes!

OK, I get all that. But what I don't get is why my normal/normal bees are refusing to work in what the apiary says is a normal/normal biome

normal/normal but what %'s, the 40/70 is ideal for swamp bees, but its not ideal for meadows or tropic, but if each bees has +2 then will work in this biome.

check here for more info on bees & breeding http://mc.nessirojgaming.eu/bees/index.php?title=Forestry

What I think your not grasping yet is that normal/normal is meadow/plains biome its 50/50 if I remember correctly, so unless the bees have a tolerance range % increase they will not work.

normal/normal is the only relevant thing. It doesn't matter, if it is 20/80, 50/50 or 110/30. All three are rated normal/normal and thus work with a bee which tolerates normal/normal.

The bug with bees suddenly not liking their biome anymore has been mentioned often in the forums, I think noone found a solution to this. It only surfaces for some people though, not for others.

Did you update this world from other pack to ultimate? Ultimate has other extrabiomesxl settings than previous packs and Forestry had a bug that it checked what biome should generate in a given place when loading chunks, not what biome there actually is. It worked for a while, because they were freshly placed, but when you unloaded them they will stop working. You can check what biome is recognized by Forestry by generating world with the same seed on your current settings and checking what biomes are around your base on that world. It is already fixed in current versions of Forestry for 1.5.X.
