Some issues creating a void age

Here's the pages I have.

• Linking Panel
• Mushroom Island Biome
  
• Single Biome
  
• Void
• Zero Length
  
• Zenith
  
• Dark Sun
• Zero Length
  
• Nadir
  
• Dark Moon
• Boundless Sky or Dark Stars
• With / without Normal Lighting (thing that might be over writing something)
• No weather
• Clear Modifiers

I can't seem to get a dark sun / moon. I've had neither fortresses and other odd things show up. I've had a sun and two moons. I've tried just making the same pages over and over trying for luck. Now I come here asking for some assistance.

Please let me know what else I can try or if I have it in the wrong order.

There are 2 things you can do:
1. Update your Mystcraft to a newer version. Newer versions have to a large degree removed the randomness of making worlds.

2. You can lower the chances of getting random features spawned in by adding lots of features in the same category your self. If you don't want moons or suns, you will have to add lots of dark moon and dark suns. Your problem is that mystcraft by itself spawns in your dark moon and dark sun AND then spawns in several other random celestial bodies. So only way to lower the chances of this happening is to list LOTS of pages of the same category your self.

Now the second solution can work for stuff like suns and moons as you can just spawn in lots of dark sun/moons. But it does not work well for removing Nether fortresses as it would require you to spawn in something else of the same category(think that would be villages, dungeons, mineshafts etc.). The first solution is by far the best as it reduces the random pages getting added and as long as you specify one page of each category, no additional pages will be added(Obviously you are going to have to chance it for some categories for Void ages, since there would be no tolerable pages to add from some categories).

Add in structure generation!!!! Caves, ravines etc as this will stop nether fortresses and not show up in a void age... If you don't add in ALL THE THINGS it will randomly generate.

I've lost count how many times I've said this now.

Another option, if you have access to the server files, is to use NBTExplorer to edit the dimension file. Then you can remove all symbols you didn't add yourself, and delete / recreate the dimension.

To me, that actually feels more like I'm creating something, and not mindlessly rolling the dice until the right side turns up.

I've lost count how many times I've said this now.

Actually believe that Caves and Ravines are a completely different category than Nether Fortresses, so adding those wont help. I think it follows the categories you can see when spawning in creative pages:

Terrain Alterations: Caves, Floating Islands, Ravines, Skylands, Spheres, Tendrils

Populators: Crystaline Formations, Deep Lakes, Dense Ores, Dungeons, Huge Trees, Mineshafts, Nether fortresses, Obelisks, Star Fissure, Strongholds, Surface lakes, Villages.


In version 0.10.13.01 and onward you can just add one from each of those categories and there will be 0% chance that you get any of the other ones from the same category. Earlier versions you need to add lots and lots of pages from one category reduce the chance for more from the same category to spawn.
So for example if you were doing a quarry world and didn't want caves/ravines you could spam 10+ sphere pages.

But be aware dense ores will cause instability wether they generate or not and some of those populators MAY show up in a void age

there is nothing wrong with your setup
but if you don't put enough populators (Crystaline Formations, Deep Lakes, Dense Ores, Dungeons, Huge Trees, Mineshafts, Nether fortresses, Obelisks, Star Fissure, Strongholds, Surface lakes, Villages) in the book it will randomly create some.
i don't know what to put in if you dont wont anything..
i dont know why you have 2 moons tho.. do you have 1 or 2 pages of Dark Moon?
