Some GregTech options in the config files are gone. (For example, Titanium Diamond Drills). Does anyone know if they have just been moved? (I don't think they have, I looked for them, and I think they were removed). Is there a way arround it? (Other than going back to 1.4.7 or removing GregTech.)

Well, I guess I will be going back to ultimate :(.
That sucks, I edited my Unleashed Pack and It has 140 mods, but I guess Greg likes everything to be complicated as can be... anyway luckily in 1.4.7 the GregTech config is better.
I would remove Gregtech, I like the stuff Gregtech adds, but I hate what it removes/changes from other mods...

Yes that is how it likes it. And he makes no attempt to suggest anything else. GT is basically for a hard mode sort of play style. Some people like it others don't.

Having an extra 2 recipes configurable doesn't make it worth going back to 1.4.7. In GT alone the new stuff is worth it, not to mention all the other mods.

Also are Mining drills configurable?
Do you mean making it require ingots instead of plates? I think so, but its in a different place than before (you need to set it so anything that requires refined iron plates uses ingots instead, though I can't remember where its located).

Besides: why even use a mining drill? There's new, great alternatives to it (such as the TC tools and the dartcraft drill).

Dartcraft stuff is made with special blocks... You will need to use the forum. Dartcraft tools when enchanted (including the power drill) are by far the fastest and best tools in the game. You can toggle area mode with shift right click... With speed 5 and efficiency 5 the things is so fast.... WAY faster then any tool possible.

Have you looked in all the various config files in the folder? GregTech changed config file format (and naming convention) multiple times in the 1.4-1.5 timeframe. For example, the file recipes.cfg, which used to hold these settings, is completely deprecated and no longer in use. All the settings were migrated to different config files.

I know, in my gregtech config folder, I've got 4 folders. Two of them (DynamicConfig.cfg, and GregTech, cfg) actually affect recipes. However, there are some options, (like diamond drills requiring adv. circuits and titanium) that were completely removed, I think. I want to know if there's a way to return the recipes back to normal, without removing GregTech completely from my pack.

Titanium is one of the easiest materials to come by when it comes to GT metals. Just use the GT recipe, its still cheap.

Some of the things that used to be in the configs have definitely been removed. Other things are Greg's "sense of humor", and don't do what they seem like they do (Does turning off the Forestry bronze nerf still give a hundred-and-something bronze ingots per craft? If not, it did for a while)

No, nothing like that ever existed in relation to the config toggle for Forestry bronze.

He did, however, add a troll option called "too easy" which, if set to true, enables such things as UU-matter from dirt and infinite bronze from the Forestry recipe.

You know what I don't miss? Needing to run stuff through a compressor to get a block.

GregTech wasn't a bad mod. It was hard but you also got handed tools to overcome that insane hardness with automation and cleverness. You are supposed to build huge sprawling factory complexes and automate certain processes and resources to get anything done at all, which is fun and rewarding but kind of a pain sometimes and a nightmare for noobs, an aesthetic challenge (pretty factories CAN be done, sort of), and not everyone's cup of tea. It was also really intrusive and tried to make you play Greg's way.

With Unleashed I have a bit more freedom to just build things. Oh, and hoppers and comparators - I can never even think about going back to 1.4.7 now that I've played with these. And all the new mods.

Tinkers Construct... That mod alone makes me NEVER want to switch back to 1.4. Also, a couple crafting recipes should not make the OP want to switch back to 1.4 and miss out on all of the new mods and features.
