So I've been trying to adjust the Terrain Lighter settings in the torchmaster mod, but no matter what I do it always plants the torches with only 4 spaces between them, even though I keep trying to make it increase that to 5. Does anyone know what's wrong? I'm using the 'Mod Options > Torch Master > Config' in the escape menu.. :<

I found the solution, recording it here for others with the same issue. I went to the feed the beast folder and found the mod config files, here:

<Driveletter>:\<Installdir>\FTB Revelation\minecraft\config\torchmaster.cfg

Editing that manually saves the settings so that the next time you boot the game, it'll work according to what you set it. A bit more cumbersome than being able to adjust via the mod menu, but for those where it doesn't work, this is the answer.
