I'm playing through this mudpack (lots of fun thus far, if extremely difficult in Expert Mode), and I can't get the IE Metal Press multiblock machine to form. I've tried swapping out one of the conveyor belts for the version with a hopper, I've tried shift, I've tried left- and right-clicking, I've tried clicking on every piece of the machine setup, and nothing is making the multiblock form. I used the engineer's hammer for all of that, btw.

I'm quite frustrated, as there's no place I can find that lists the changes made for Expert Mode, and the guide included via the GUI is quite barebones.

Couple of quick questions: did you make sure the conveyor belts (both need to be the normal ones) were facing the same direction, and did you make sure the piston was facing downwards?

Thanks for your reply! Yes to both questions. I also tried rotating each conveyor belt independently to make sure there wasn't something I misunderstood so I'd have different combinations of directions in addition to both facing the same direction. And every time I hit the piston with my hammer, it just kept rotating. I'll double-check that I'm right in those details, but I'm pretty darned confident I didn't miss anything there.

And it's good to know I'm using the right conveyor belts. I read in a question on a different Infinity mudpack (don't remember what version) that there was a conveyor belt that has a "ignore redstone signal" feature that doesn't work for this machine.

Oh geez. I just got it to work. There must have been some kind of glitch that required me to log out and back in to make it work. I can't tell you just how happy I am that I can use it now!

I rotated both conveyor belts to face East instead of West and it worked. So I broke it and rotated them back, and it worked again. Must have been a temporary glitch.

At least it's working now. I don't know that it's a bug that can necessarily be tracked since it wasn't reproducible. Thanks for jumping into my thread! I may not have tried it again tonight otherwise!

No probs, glad you managed to get it to work! :) yeah, sometimes these glitches crop up from time to time, sounds like you were doing everything right, it’s just there’s a couple of things that folk trip up on (especially me!) so it’s always best to check it’s not any of those hiccups first!

I think i have the exact problem, is it receiving power but when you throw an ingot on to the conveyor is not being taken into the machine? If so how exactly did you fix this issue

Nvm, i just extended the conveyor belt further back from the entrance to the machine and it works now
