So.. Yeah, Anyone has a solution to Nei in Unleashed?

Hey guys! Ok, tried some different versions, tried modifying the configs, taking out some tabs, disabled the thaumcraft aspects one ( that hurts ) and still, i can press the u key (To see what the item is used for) without Nei freezing for 20 to 30 seconds.. R works ALMOST well, its just a 3 to 6 sec wait.. But the freezing while looking for the item uses is just a pain in the ass.. Someone told me this was a bug and gets fixed in 1.6.x but.. I kind of think that FTB wouldn't make a pack with an obvious bug like that so im presuming i have something wrong...

No, my computer is NOT a potato. I run everything fine but Nei.

No, i haven't touched any config files from the original installation when this started to happen, i did tried to change somethings looking for a better time.

I have the same problem, also have the same problem when accessing tanks, furnaces, etc. I always thought it was because I have a crappy computer =\.Hopefully this will get fixed.

U key has always been a long wait for me, first I've heard of it being a bug instead of just a really slow sift through a large pile of data.

I kind of think that FTB wouldn't make a pack with an obvious bug like that so im presuming i have something wrong...

On a more serious note, NEI has always had slow performance when using 'U' to look up item uses. It's not a bug, it's not a freeze, it's just looking through all of the crafting recipes and machine recipes to find every instance of the item you're inquiring about. It takes 4-5 seconds for NEI to return the list for me running with plenty of RAM and an SSD. This is what we get for having hundreds of mods adding <x> items each, plus machines with their own recipes, etc, etc.

U key has always been a long wait for me, first I've heard of it being a bug instead of just a really slow sift through a large pile of data.

Did you play 1.2.5? It was always instant. I've always seen this bug specifically with FTB packs(Since the launcher anyway) but never really took the time to contrast the mods to find out which mod is the culprit. Other packs I've played with(DNS is the only one I remember by name) had no lag at all when searching a recipe.

At least for me, this is the first tme it happens.. And im sure it's not because of the large pile of data 'cause i disabled some mods that i do not use and the item count is basically the same as ultimate, where U works fine..

And, yeah, it sounds kind of weird that it is a bug, also i dont think chiken would put a bugged NeI as a final release nor ftb add it, so i thought that maybe i downloaded the pack with some r-w errors or something.. but even redownloading or disabling mods, the u freezes me :/

I don't think there could be a fix. That function works by scanning every single class involving (for example) ItemStack ingotIron, which is a ton. It scans all of them and then has to display them.

Closest thing to a fix would be to get a 5billion dollar processor.

Yeah, maybe slow performance, but when i say freeze, i MEAN IT. The whole game freezes for 20 to 30 seconds. Even if it's an item with no use at all.. Also in Ultimate i don't have this problem (And i even added some mods to it to make it worse) while in Unleashed (For testing purposes) I disabled some hard core items adder mods like BC, IC, BoP and Better dungeons (Which i put myself) and got the same result.

AFAIK, no. I have yet to add NEI to my workspace to make sure my mod and it are compatible. It's just that there are a lot more mods than before.

Yes it happens to me in unleashed, I had it happen to me in ultimate and Direwolf20 1.4.7 pack( it wasn't as bad in 1.4.7 as it is for me now in unleashed) I get the lag with trying to access anything with an GUI or an inventory.
