So my quarry is digging in diamonds??

So I set up my 64x64 quarry so I could get some nether quarts and its dug out the area but it wont do line by line mining it seems to want to mine in odd diamond shapes I would upload I pic But I cant as of now :) But I am lost as to what to do any help would be nice ^_^

A quarry will not dig below lava, and a single lava block that gets quarried up usually leaves behind a diamond shape of flowing lava. Is that what you are seeing?

Possibly, but I have reset the quarry to see if that was the issue and it continued with the diamonds

i had same problem. this may sound wierd but make it completely flat just below were the quarry starts, now heres the wierd part take some lava and completely cover the area the quarry will dig. sound wierd but in nether lava spreads like water. now remove all the lava and restart the quarry. this is what i did to fix mine now i just plug spots of lava that pop up. if this dont work then sorry
