Visual bug my butt. The last time this has happened to me, it removed my jetpack while I was howering over a bloody pit of lava.

Well atleast you know... it's statistically highly possible, that there was some lava under me somewhere. That was in my base I jetpacked up to one of xytanks, glitched, didn't show contents. Clicked it and fell some 20 blocks. Okay, there was no lava within 20 blocks, BUT IT STARTLED ME, OKAY?

The funniest thing about it was it happened right as someone in my house was using the microwave.... Those things are evil..

that first shot shows the warth lamp ghost light blocks it looks like.

In case anyone is wondering those buggers are uselly whats makes the xycraft tanks bug out. I believe it is because the XYcraft valve is trying to use them as part of the tank structure or see them as blocks inside the tank.

Trust me, this isn't an error. Eloraam intentionally coded it and it adds to the gameplay experience.

At first I was confused why my jetpack wasn't letting me fly. Then I was confused as to why I suddenly had two voltmeters and enderpouches. Would have been cool if the wool cover strip rendered on my head

I'm assuming it's something in a texture file that's rendering when it shouldn't.

I once had a similar issue while trying to put Wooden Rails into a Steve's Cart via the cargo manager. When I opened up the cart, to see if it worked, I saw pieces of my armor in there and 2 seconds later the game crashed.
When I restarted the game my chest piece was gone, it wasn't in the cart and it wasn't on me.

This was in creative though, so it wasn't a huge issue.
