So I am new and dumb

I have only played Vanilla Minecraft, so this is my first time with the mod. Is there a way to turn off the whole block library thing when I go into my inventory? I really don't need to see the thing listing all the different blocks. Sorry if I am posting this in the wrong forum.

that thing doesn't just list all the different blocks, it shows you the receipes for those blocks.

And while in your inventory, hit "O".

FYI - The mod that adds that in is called "Not Enough Items". You can find out more about it here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/909223-164-smp-chickenbones-mods/

It is a really, really useful mod (I personally love being able to look up a recipe, and shift+click to make it fill the crafting grid with your recipe)

Eventually you will get used to it and think minecraft looks odd without it. Dumb people dont play FTB, they play vanilla. Welcome to the smart people's club.

Actually I find vanilla redstone contraption a lot harder...

But vanilla is boring for me. That is why I play modded.

As mention before you press "o" and it will turn it off and on. But if you are new to FTB and moded mincraft

Then you really DO NEED to see the thing listing all the blocks. If you mouse over any block there and press "r" it will give you recipe to create it if you if you press "u" will tell you what recipes it is used in. Even experienced players use it as it is impossible to remember recipes for all the 140+mods. So you being n00b as we all were/still are really should use it and will need it for long time.
