So having a small problem with Material Energy^3

I've gotten basically stuck with a quest in the nether namely finding the core which is buried deep in a lava pool or above the upper bedrock still have no clue as how to get to either as I get to the bottom and hit bedrock above the void and have no way to break bedrock above. Any assistance with be grateful

You can glitch trough the bedrock ceiling with enderpearls , but you can't get back. So bring Obsidian for a portal.

Thanks for the suggestions, but Ender IO isn't apart of the modpack. Now I'm trying to figure out how to import all the cobble I'm generating into the ME system since it's the 1.6.4 mod version any suggestions?
