Is there any way to set up a Wither Farm Room that incorporates a grinder that's not the MFR Mining Laser? Don't have enough resources for that.

Never played it. Looking at the mod list though, these immediately spring to mind:
* MFR Grinder
* EnderIO killer joe
* Extra utilities spikes
* Botania has a flower that kills mobs I believe

Not sure which of these reliably produce wither skeleton skulls.

I should clarify: These are all ways to KILL the wither once he's spawned.

Spawning him is another thing altogether: I've never bothered to set up an automated spawner. I'm guessing auto-spawner doesn't work, that would be a bit cheesy. There are several block-placing devices in that pack that can complete the ritual however. AE2 comes to mind with its formation plane.

MFR has some good block placers. Will check into the Killer Joe thing if it can work through a block.

Probably could shoot it with arrows from a dispenser, but that'd be slow. Personally I see it as a challenge to be overcome when I dont have the resources to complete a task the way I want it to be done. Its part of the reason I love modded minecraft, a simple idea turns into an all day project.

I know. I could bust a hole in the cage and wack it with my Nano Sword, but I'd eventually get hit and because I don't have any armor on. But would like to automate the process. MFFS (Modular Force Field Systems) would come in handy about now.

LOL. That's what I've been doing, mining and stuff. Hardest part id trying to find Iridium for Advanced Solar Panels. Found a couple in random chests, but haven't come across any more so far.

Mob grinder from draconic evolution is awesome at killing withers. Also as far as im aware the MFR grinder doesn't work for withers.

How do you make a Warded Room? In my test world, I put down some warded glass and Paving Stones of Warding. The glass didn't shatter when the Wither formed, but the Paving Stones were destroyed.

Paving stones are only to keep mobs from walking on them. You could just make more glass, its cheaper than the EIO blast proof blocks.

How would that be set up to withstand the initial blast?
I think DE's grinder is actually witherproof all by itself.

Also, there are a few ways to make a witherproof room. Septuple and octuple compressed cobblestone from ExtraUtilities, EnderIO's reinforced obsidian, and RFTools shields and probably the blocks protected by its Block Protector area all totally witherproof, as is Thaumcraft warded glass. In addition, after you've killed the Wither once, you can use the nether star to make a Warding Focus. Attach this to your Thaumcraft wand or staff, and spam-click it over the walls of your room. It'll make the blocks as indestructible as anything else on this list, if not more so.

Unfortunately, there's no way to make transparent blocks, like ethereal glass, witherproof (aside from TC's warded glass block) since that functionality was removed from the Thaumcraft focus. So just make the door to your wither room small enough that it can't get out, and put a warded wall in front of it. The arcane door might also be witherproof; I haven't tested it.

If you're looking to spawn the wither, using Pneumaticraft drones to place the blocks, and then run away, is a cool way to do it.

Don't know if that mod is in Infinity, I haven't played it yet.
