Slime spawner not working?

I have a tier 4 slime spawner, and for some reason, the thing is not spawning any slimes. Does the spawner need to be in another biome, a certain level, a different light level, or something else?

I'm guessing it needs to be in a "slime chunk." Slimes only spawn in certain chunks. Theres an option in Rei's Minimap to highlight slime chunks. Hope that fixes your problem.

Agree with darkblock.

Al previous mods I've seen that allow you to make mob spawners had to satisfy most of the normal conditions as well.

Well Tier 4 and up spawners supposedly can spawn mobs in any condition, whether it satisfies usual requirements or not.

if a tier 4 can spawn blazes in the overworld, then it should be able to spawn slimes in any biome.

Maybe try a tier 5? Test it in creative mode first, though. If it works in all conditions, it should work in a non-slime chunk. Sorry, but I can't test it for you at the moment, I'm on my phone.

I tested it a bit myself. Tier 5 worked fine anywhere but tier 4 and below required that I was in a swamp, or I assume a slime chunk would work to but I did not attempt to find one.

A normal blaze spawner can do that.

a normal blaze spawner is found in the nether... Although, I've not tried gravity gunning it back to the overworld, I do know however that blaze shard spawners up to lvl 3 will not work in the overworld

Gravity gunning them works fine. They also spawn the same in the overworld. So really there is no use in using a shard until 4/5; really just 5.

The challenge has been getting creepers, lol A tier 4 creeper spawner would be super sweet.

ETA: The slime spawner works very well. It spawned slimes so quickly, I could not run out fast enough when I got the building made. Very cool indeed.
