Skyfactory crashing during gameplay

  • Tech Support section is for getting help with FTB related problems. If there's a repeatable issue that can be labeled as a bug, then please use the issue tracker for the pack or the app at GitHub issue trackers - If there's no repository for a pack that means that the pack is old and/or will not be updated. Bugs for older packs will not be fixed, unless they are critical.

Title Skyfactory crashing during gameplay

Launcher Type FTB Launcher

Modpack Skyfactory

Modpack version 3

Have you modified the pack? Yes

Link to log file

Details of the issue I've been having issues with Skyfactory 3 crashing since install. We've tried removing EnderIO, re-downloading, using older editions including beta's and released versions, and removing the Moar Signs mod. The game will play for 4-10 minutes before crashing to the Minecraft startup screen. At that point, you have to exit all the way back to Twitch and open up the game again. This is the current crash log:
ChickenChunks Invalid Fingerprint Reports:
EnderIO: Found the following problem(s) with your installation (That does NOT mean that Ender IO caused the crash or was involved in it in any way. We add this information to help finding common problems, not as an invitation to post any crash you encounter to Ender IO's issue tracker. Always check the stack trace above to see which mod is most likely failing.):
* The RF API that is being used (1.5.0 from (guessing) null) differes from that that is reported as being loaded (1.8.9R1.2.0B1 from rangedpumps-0.3.jar).
It is a supported version, but that difference may lead to problems.
This may (look up the meaning of 'may' in the dictionary if you're not sure what it means) have caused the error.

Tell your antivirus to ignore the Curse folder. It's performing a scan and Minecraft can't access the files.

We'll give it a shot with the antivirus disabled!
I'll note though that this is a constant issue, not a one-off, so if it was only when the AV was scanning I wouldn't expect to see it so frequently.

Just disable will not work, you'll need to add exceptions.

so if it was only when the AV was scanning I wouldn't expect to see it so frequently.
Depends on what AV you use - there might be scanning of files that changes - it's not just scheduled scans.

A side note - you might want to reduce the amount of allocated ram - keep it 4-6gb (even if you got lots to spare) - giving too much can give you other issues down the line.

Well, have not given it a thorough workout, but I was able to play for over an hour without any crashing. Given that I was only getting 5-10 minutes between crashes previously, it seems that the antivirus was definitely the problem. Thank you very much!

The massive improvement that I had was just running with the AV disabled, so in my case it seems that disabling it -did- work for me. I'll still whitelist it though to be safe. And thank you for the tip, I'll reduce the RAM usage too!
