Details of the issue Somewhere between 1.2.1 and 1.4.2, the recipes for AE2 sky stone and all of the inscriber presses disappeared. I have tried to enter them in manually in the AE2 recipe files, but the server rolls them back to the defaults every time I try.

Can you try using Twitch (curse) or the FTB (legacy) launcher and see if the issue is there as well?

Your problem is caused by removing FTB Utilities. You have two choices. Put FTBU utilities back in the pack or copy the normal.zs from modpack/normal/scripts to the scripts folder. That script file is what contains the recipe modifications. But since your removed FTBU CraftTweaker can't find the scripts.

A bit yes and no - it works with FTB Utilities disabled, but he prob is missing the /scripts/beyond.zs -file

I wanted to validate that he/she can use the provided launchers and not just running another launcher for some shady reason, as you've given part of the answer I may as well give the rest

Thank you for your help. I did have the script backed up and was able to put it in my scripts folder to fix the issue.
