Sky Factory 3 Crash Report

  • Tech Support section is for getting help with FTB related problems. If there's a repeatable issue that can be labeled as a bug, then please use the issue tracker for the pack or the app at GitHub issue trackers - If there's no repository for a pack that means that the pack is old and/or will not be updated. Bugs for older packs will not be fixed, unless they are critical.

Title Sky Factory 3 Crash Report

Launcher Type Curse App

Modpack Sky Factory 3

Modpack version 3.0.1

Have you modified the pack? No

Link to log file http://paste.feed-the-beast.com/view/1eb93560

Details of the issue NOTE: this is on OSX, may be pertinent so just high-lighting it as I've seen a few streams with people running windows and having no problems.
Start Sky Factory 3 through the curse launcher on OSX. Get a similar crash report each time with a message from Ender IO towards they end.
"EnderIO: Found the following problem(s) with your installation (That does NOT mean that Ender IO caused the crash or was involved in it in any way. We add this information to help finding common problems, not as an invitation to post any crash you encounter to Ender IO's issue tracker. Always check the stack trace above to see which mod is most likely failing.):"

Super, thank you. I modified the profile and changed the value from 3072 up to 16384 and it started up no problems.
Guess Ideally the curse launcher should do this by default. Will open a ticket with them.
Thanks.

No it does not do that by default and no you don't need to open a ticket for it. Also if you have 16 gb of ram do not allocate all of it as that wil cause issues, 6gb should be enough.

I've 32GB, so happy to allocate 16 to it.
In the minecraft launcher (when launched from the curse launcher) there is a new profile called FTB Presents Skyfactory 3. In this profile the JVM Arguments setting is set to '-Xmx3072m -Xms256m -XX:permSize=256m -Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true -Dfml.ignoreInvalidMinecraftCertificates=true -Duser.language=en -Duser.country=US' by default. It would appear to be the curse launcher setting this.

On further investigation these settings can be changed directly within the curse launcher, which then feeds them to the minecraft launcher. So it would seem the curse launcher should for certain packs have a higher default memory allocated than 3072MB.

It is probably set to that because not everybody has 8gb or more ram available and curse may not check for that so a default of 3gb is what it sets it at.

It is easy to change it in the settings anyway, so no real issue.
