So I'm trying to make an arc furnace for the first time and the recipe says I need 14 Steel Sheetmetal Slabs. While I can make Steel Sheetmetal Blocks, I cannot make them into slabs. Unless there was an update to how to build an arc furnace, I simply cannot make one. The item "Steel Sheetmetal Slab" doesn't even appear in the NEI list.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I would suggest trying normal steel slabs, and if that doesn't work, normal sheet metal slabs.

Thanks for the tip. I'm still in the "gathering materials" phase, so I'll try that out when I get everything else. Didn't know if these multi-block structures were flexible with their building materials. Will update when I start building the thing.

Second Problem: "Redstone Engineering Block" also doesn't seem to exist. Same problem as the Steel Sheetmetal Slabs. Doesn't appear in the NEI list, and the recipe seems to do nothing in the crafting area. Making this arc furnace is becoming difficult...

That should definitely exist. Backup your world and try reinstalling the pack (just make a new instance if you're using Curse)

Did a fresh delete and reinstall of the mod. Same problems, the items don't seem to exist. Guess this isn't intended.

I'm fairly certain it's not, although it's possible the pack author intentionally disabled them. I don't know without looking at some let's plays to see if they have access to it.

You can probably find where its disabled in the Minetweaker scripts comment out those lines. I'll take a look when I get home.

Didn't consider that possibility. Used the default modpack from Curse, so I thought it would have mentioned that somewhere. Oh well. Never notice things are missing till you need them.

Not that I'm an expert at this, since I'm winging it for the first time, but through the powers of Google, I looked through the IE.zs script (I presume that its Immersive Engineering), and saw nothing with the words "redstone" or "steel" mentioned. So maybe its not a Minetweaker thing? Could be completely wrong though.

Normally you'd be right, but most of the IE blocks use meta data (blockname: damage value) I don't remember what exactly the block name is though.

I'm downloading the pack now, I'll report back in a few minutes.

Based on the Engineer's Manual, the redstone engineering block isn't required (also doesn't exist in this version of IE), and it uses normal steel slabs. Not sure what you're using for a reference, but the ingame manual is more accurate.

Ah, never knew there was an in-game manual (first time messing with the mods). Was using the ftb wiki for the most part (since when you don't know something, you google it, and the google leads to the wiki.)

Anyways, thanks a lot for all of your help. Was stuck with this problem for a little while now.
