Single Player Commands vs Single Player Console?

I need to install one of these mods, for various reasons. They both seem to fulfil similar functions, but console presents itself as being slightly better. Is either of these definitely superior? If not, what are the advantages/differences of each?

Single Player Console does not like mystcraft. You so much as use a linking book with single player console installed, and it will crash your client.
