What ya mean, cause I got a crucible filled with lava (to the brim) and right clicking with redstone don't work.

Just went through 4 stacks of bonemeal, and not 1 yet ... Not any in the city I checked either

Gotcha ... as for carrots, and potatoes, you know how to get those?

Sift dirt for seeds(for carrots and potatoes I mean. If you need wheat seeds that'll work too but why would you sift dirt looking for them?). If you want cactus, sift sand. If you want jungle wood(/coco beans) sift dust(other saplings drop from dirt, as do most plant seeds).
As for nicer woods(aka Natura) you make topiary grass(4 wheat seeds and 1 dirt) and sift that for a shot at any enabled Natura sapling(and the berry bushes IIRC). Redwood is disabled by default, and so is the Sacred Rubberwood Sapling, but both can be enabled if you so wish.
