Simple Question regarding bees.

I recently saw a recipe of the logistics pipe mod that adds a "bee analyzer module". I would like to know what this does and how it works.

As far as I can tell, it's essentially a beesink for unknown bees. There might be extraction, too (like the crafting pipe), I can't remember.
