FTB hasnt been able to connect to minecraft servers, Ive reinstalled it, and I've waited for a few days and retried, I've ran as administrator .

wat do

Assuming the servers aren't down, is his firewall blocking FTB? Try temporarily turning off the firewall and launching FTB. If that's the problem, don't forget to turn it back on and allow the launcher and java through your firewall!

I actually couldn't log in to Minecraft servers this morning too. The authentication servers were down apparently. Not sure if it is fixed now since I'm not at work.

Thanks, it must just be that I am consistently unlucky. It worked today.

Side note I don't have any antivirus so that wasn't it either, but thanks for the help.

How do you survive general day to day life on the interwebs?

I once ran an experiment on an unprotected internet connection and my computer ran a commercial for a prostate cancer charity, shit its pants and died.

Common sense is the best malware prevention.

AV and Firewalls are two separate things, but often packaged together in such a way that it's easy to mix the two up. Your antivirus software would not be blocking the connection (although an Antivirus suite of tools may include a Firewall which could block it). I see that you're no longer having the issue, so this is just general info.

It's been forever since Ive used anti-virus or firewalls, mostly because they cause more problems than they protect me from, which are none. I don't get any issues because of those magical words of wisdom right up there. Literally last time I used any protection was when I was much younger.

This is all kind of off topic now.... oops.
