Hi,

is it me or is it really, and I mean REALLY hard to find a magical forest in the new DW20 pack? I'm flying for 1000s of blocks without any sign of a magical bean and silverwood trees
I have nodes marked ready for transporation but I need a Silverwood core first let alone a vis filter for my alchemy

Is there another way in stead of flying for ages? ( through ages )

Are you using Biomes o Plenty? Then you're basically screwed.
But you can edit the Thaumcraft config and increase the weight of the magical forest biome. This of course only affects newly generated chunks.

^^^^ This

Whenever I'm playing with a biome-generator mod (ex. BoP, EXBL, Highlands), I've learned to expect biomes from vanilla or other mods such as TC to be effectively non-existent until/unless I tame the biome-generator mod via its config. Fortunately, the major biome-generator mods are very config-friendly.

One thing I like about DW20 is he has great videos and mod spotlights, and make packs which are general-purpose. You watch his videos, play his packs while watching the videos, and it's usually a great experience.

However, one thing DW20 doesn't do is spend a lot of time tweaking/balancing his packs. He typically just throws the mods together in a "pack" and calls it done with little to no config or script work. As a result, his packs can be buggy/unbalanced/inconsistent.

Well I disagree on your conment. But DW is a TC player so eventually he will find out. On his last pack Silverwood was easy findable

I will adjust the setting and fly arround to non rendered chunks. Maybe make a new age

Thanks so far

If I don't spawn near(3k'ish range) a Magical forest, which I usually don't with ATG+BoP+Highlands, I just make a Mystcraft age with the biomes I am missing.
But I do treat Mystcraft more like a "Admin" tool and not a gameplay mod and therefore cheat in the books.

I've been playing DW20 just to get a feel for the new/updated mods before playing something where the recipes are tweaked to hell and back (since changing recipes seems to be the cool thing to do these days...sigh) and I've found at least 2 Magical Forests, so it is possible to find them.

That's not always a bad thing, though. It certainly helps as an intro pack, where things aren't made more expensive, balanced, cross mod integraded, and thus more complex to play. Many times that i've wanted to learn a new mod, I typically prefer default recipes and such.

Many BoP biomes are tagged as magical - and should spawn wisps, pech, and silverwood trees. e.g. Sacred Springs.
Many of BOP's magical class biomes are also quite pretty with different water colors, foliage colors, sky tinting, etc. I typically have BOP set to Include very vanilla biomes, Crag, garden, grove, all of it's magical biomes, and basically nothing else.
