Windows .exe Silly NEI Highlight question

Alright so apparently NEI is showing which block I'm looking at in a tooltip at the top of the screen, I turned it off in the options but it's still showing that tooltip.
How do I get rid of it?
I like NEI's recipe function and all that, but not that tooltip and turning it off in the Global settings doesn't seem to actually do anything.

At first I thought it was NEI as well, but it is a new mod called waila. Disable it by pressing 1, by default.

You're correct, numpad 1 to turn it off.
I prefer my HUD to be pretty minimal.
