I noticed that many people just tolerate the annoying things about Minecraft instead of changing them. one of the main complaints people have when it comes to using anything other than AE for item storage is the noise the chests make. Well I got fed up with that back in 1.2.5 and edited the sound effects in the minecraft.jar to be silent. Well nowadays you can do that with resource packs so heres the one I made for myself:

It silences a few other things like the disgusting slime sounds, and a few of the more annoying creature sound effects like the Zombie snort. Zombies will still make noise but just the moan followed by periods of silence when they are saying things you cant hear.
