I thought it would be cool to showcase tools (Wrench, jetpack, wands, etc.) in the team fortress style to give people an idea how they can be used. I just wanted to hear if you guys want it, or if I should drop it and not waste time on it.
PS. Thanks to Chrissy who made a showcase in the TF2 style, thus inspiring me to think about doing something alike.

It would be useful. Actually, you could make a mod that lets you press a key while hovering over an item on NEI and have it show you that item's showcase, if it has one. That would be more useful, since people will probably be scrolling through the list of items and blocks in NEI and they'll see something that they don't understand.

Well depending that might lag more than right clicking on an item in NEI on recipe mode.

Doubtful. When you look for a recipe in NEI it searches every recipe to find the right one. Having a mod display a small picture overlay on your screen shouldn't take that long, and once you do it once it'll be loaded into the RAM and it won't take as long the next time.

Well, as much as I would love to do that, I have no expirience in coding. I was more thinking as a small video on the wiki or something like that, but if you are willing to make a mod, I can help with the recording.

Actually, if you're going to put the showcases on the wiki, this mod would indirectly connect with WikiLink quite well.

So far I haven't seen any reason not to make the videos, but I still want some more peoples opinions. Thanks anyway for your support.
Make them because you want to and enjoy it. The only "wrench" that can be thrown into your plans is how quickly these things go out of date. The core of these vids usually remains true, but with changes in the mods, your vids may be incorrect within weeks or a few months of uploading.

There will be a period where they'll be useful and enjoyed. So go forth and produce content! At the rate of things, people may be sticking with 1.5.2 for a while anyway.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "showcasing tools in the tf2 style".
Are you talking about the tooltips? First person view? Third person view? What am I missing?

The internet, Google and Wiki are difficult tools to use. Though it would be a useful feature, I don't know how much I would use it if it used up processing power. Especially if it turned on every single time I used NEI or something.

Of course it does, as you can say it just acts like any wrench/tool from the mods.[DOUBLEPOST=1378055428][/DOUBLEPOST]An example video would be like this, for any of you in doubt
Oh, those weapon demonstration videos. I considered that but didn't think it was right.

I have no idea where or how you related that video to meet the team, though.
