well, seeing as I had to buy a new computer because my old one crapped out, and I haven't been much on the forum since then (finally had the time again to come back on) and seeing as there's not a topic about this yet, how about sharing your computer or laptop setup/specifications with eachother?

my new computer is not build yet, I ordered the components and it should be getting delivered later this week, but my new computer is build out of these components

Intel Core i7 4770K Boxed
Gigabyte GA-Z87X-D3H
Gainward GeForce GTX 770 2GB Phantom
Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 ST1000DM003
Corsair Carbide 500R Black
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (64-Bit)
Scythe Mugen 3 PC Games Hardware Edition
Kingston HyperX KHX16C10B1RK2/16X
Samsung SH-224DB/BEBE Zwart
Seasonic G-Serie 750Watt
Samsung 840 EVO 250GB

you might call it a bit overkill, but I am using the computer constantly at home most of the day, and I do quite alot of different things with my computer from time to time, so hopefully this new system can keep me going for a good 3 years.

I also recently bought a MSI GE70 0ND-267NL as my old laptop was really getting old, so old I wasn't even able to play vanilla minecraft anymore, so it was time to get a new laptop and I ended up buying the MSI GE70 0ND-267NL
it had Windows 8 installed on it, but I just couldn't get used to it, so I ended up installing Windows 7 on it and I'm loving it, and I'm actually using it right now.

so, who else wants ot share their setups/specifications?

ooh, a custom case. I would love to see what you come up with.
I always love to see custom computer cases, or modded cases

sounds nice, good luck with it :)

for me, sadly today I heard from the computerstore that the Scythe Mugen 3 didn't fit and they suggested me to replace it with the Scythe Mugen 4 instead, so now I am waiting for the Scythe Mugen 4 to get delivered so the computerstore can finish building the computer

Case: Corsair Carbide 500R (Black)
CPU: Intel Core i5-3570k
Motherboard: AsRock Z77 Extreme4
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LP 16GB (4x4GB)
GPU: MSI Gaming N760 Twin Frozr
Sound: Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Titanium
Storage: 2x Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB
PSU: Corsair HX750

My next upgrade is probably a heatsink for my CPU, since I'm just using the stock cooling for now. The Carbide 500R has great cooling and airflow even with just the stock fans, but my CPU still runs a little too warm to be overclocked without a proper heatsink.

I already posted my specs up above, so here's a few pictures of it.

739677_10200155687356757_355817717_o.jpg 1233184_10201933461079989_1837644967_o.jpg 701958_10200155701557112_824931726_o.jpg

First picture is there because the case is so great that it deserves its own picture. :D

EDIT: I think I might flip my power supply if possible. Right now the fan faces down, straight into the carpet. Depends on whether it's an intake or outtake fan, I suppose. I don't want to be blowing hot air straight into my graphics card's fans...

it's an awesome case for sure ;) sadly it's a bit on the small side for my setup, so it's kind of cramped.

Oh, I didn't notice that you were using the same case, lol. I'm surprised it seems small for you, though. I've got SO much extra space in mine. Must be that giant heatsink you mentioned, since I'm just using the stock cooling for now. The Carbide 500R is what I would normally classify as "huge." I wouldn't want to go any bigger than that.

Although my perspective is probably a little skewed since the case for my last computer (a prebuilt HP computer) had a little over half the volume of the 500R.

EDIT: For the sake of comparison, my old computer in its entirety weighed 3.6 lbs. less than just the CASE of my current computer.

haha, yea, I also thought the 500R was a big case, but once everything was put into the case, it didn't seem so big anymore :p
if I get the chance, I'll see if I can make a photo from the inside of the case, so you can see it aswell

my last case was a Thermaltake Armor+ MX, so I'm used to big cases, but I guess I should've gone with one of the Obsidian series of Corsair...

So cool some of you actually build your computers the ground up? That's would be cool if I could do that.

I got a free laptop wit the following

CPU Intel i5-3120M @ 2.50Ghz
RAM at 4GB but 3.87 usable RAM
and for the drive it have a 400GB capacity

So yea it's a lot better than the desktop I used to use.

ahh cool I'm been thinking of wanting to try to build a dedicated machine instead of renting one to save 100's of dollars on rental variants.

Yeah, building a PC is really just a matter of following directions. There are books and online guides that explain exactly how to do it, too. Picking which parts to buy is a lot more difficult because there are so many choices, though. Honestly, actually building it once you have the parts doesn't get a whole lot more complicated than "put the thing in the slot."
