Should I 8 or should I not? (the clash baby)

Title.. Should I go with java 8 or stay with java 7? Today I found out I need java 8 for accessing a server, but I've heard a lot of trouble with java 8 and FTB, any advice? (I can just keep 7 and modify the executable that ftb uses in the options, but I would like to only have one install for cleanliness)

Depends what you're running. Any modpack based off Minecraft 1.7 works perfectly with 8. Anything lower you need 7.
