Shortbows and FPS

Do TiC shortbows still cause stupid amounts of client lag?

I remember when they would drop my FPS from ~170 to ~12 or 13.

If they don't, that'd be really awesome!

If they still do, is there any hope for a fix?

If this was back in ultimate, then it most likely got fixed already.

They still do. I do, however, remember reading a TCon changelog a while back saying that the performance of shortbows had been bettered. The drops in framerate are not as significant anymore but still persist. Afaik, some users report no significant drop in framerate, while others, me included, still have the issue. A fix might be in the works, but I think it's unlikely that we'll see it for 1.6.4.

Erm... I highly doubt that. TiC nor infinitools even existed for 1.4.7... so....

^ they both did, actually.

mDiyo has claimed to have fixed the bug several times but I still have it, even on the latest versions, so I'm starting to think it may be graphic driver dependent.

TCon existed in 1.4.7- it just wasn't usable as they hadn't gotten any of the worldgen done I've got a copy of it somewhere.

The point is that this is an on-going problem, and it really does sadden me that I can't use these bows

I thought it was still InfiniCraft in 1.4...
And TiC was in Unleashed, not Ultimate

I think it's mainly due to the obscurity of the bug you mentioned. Have you reported it?

Both InfiTools and Tinker's were available for 1.4.7

No. I believe this was a giant issue when the shortbows came out, so I figure it was already reported a good amount of times, right?
