Hi all. Yet another noob question :)

Currently using the DW20 pack which contains Forestry and it's backpacks (miner's, digger's, etc)

When you shift+right-click with a backpack as your current selection, it changes the "mode" (receive, supply, lock, etc)

However, you should also be able to shift-right click onto a chest to dump the contents of said backpack into the chest.

The problem I am having is when I shift-right click to empty the contents of the backpack, it also changes the mode of the backpack. However the forestry page specifically says that this mode change should not happen if you are shift-right clicking with your cursor over a chest:

Since version 1.4.4.0, backpacks now have different "modes", which can be switched by crouching and right-clicking (anywhere but chests or other machines) with the backpack selected

Despite this, I am having to constantly cycle my backpack modes when I shift-rightclick to dump the contents into a chest. It is getting annoying!

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Thanks for any and all help...

Which version of Forestryo do you have?
From the changelog of 1.7.0.0:
"Bugfix: Fixed backpacks switching modes when emptying into chests."

I'm also having this issue with the Mindcrack pack, it has Forestry 1.6.4.1, so I guess that explains the problem. I don't really mind though, I think I'll just wait till the next update.

Well both of the packs just updated a bit ago and now have forestry 1.7.1 which should have the problem fixed.
Good to know that this annoying little bug has been squashed. I love my backpacks, but this particular bug really made me reconsider them for a while.
