Shields???

So I've been messing around with 1.10, and I've fallen in love with the shield. However, there appears to be an almost complete lack of mods that add new types of shields to minecraft. The only three I could find are:

Spartan Shields: adds new shields to match vanilla tiers, with durability values to match.

Apple shields: a mostly novelty mod that adds auto-repair shields and an RF variant with apple-based textures and recipes.

Now my issue is, I don't really like any of these. Spartan shields just have increased durability, apple is too much of a novelty to take seriously at all, and I don't like to use tinkers construct (and tend to remove it from packs I play when I can) because it tends to completely overshadow other modded tools and weapons.

So what I really want to know is, does anyone know of any other mods that add new shield varieties or know of any mods that are working on shields or is this all there is at the moment?

Silent's Gems adds shields which can be built from a variety of different gems found in world gen. You can use the gems to build tools and armor as well, with durability and effectiveness based on materials used. So far, it doesn't seem to overshadow other mod tools, but it gives a nice variance from the Vanilla set.

The Tinkers Construct battlesign can also be used in the shield slot and is actually pretty good there
