Well, uh... I guess I could teach him. I'd need something to write with and on, though...
Hey, Eeeeevvvvvaahhh... do you have some paper and a pen anywhere?
Edit:
*hears no response from EVE*
Well then, I'll just have to make do. Hmm...
*thinks to self*
A sand tray would be ideal; but there's a sandstorm going on out there right now, so that's... difficult. Hmm... most of my foci don't leave anything remotely permanent behind, save Frost... which could work; I could use the ice shards to form letters, but then they'd just melt... I could engrave the letters into the wall here with my Excavation focus; I think I have enough control for that, but I doubt Eeeevvvv... whatever her name is would appreciate it... Wait, I could use my Flame focus to put some soot on the wall here.

Ah, that'll work.
*stands up, takes a step back, attaches an orange orb to staff, aims it at the floor, and blasts the floor with fire for a second or two, until there's a clearly visible layer of soot there*
*sits back down*
Ok, the first thing you'll need to learn is the alphabet.
*uses finger to draw out the entire alphabet in the patch of soot; tells Tzet their names while doing so*
These are all the letters used where I'm from; since you can understand what I'm saying when I speak, it should work for your language as well.
*points out vowels and explains that there's at least one in every word, and even every syllable; also gives examples of using them in different words spoken aloud*
*And so on and so on... Lens, where in all that does Tzet interrupt me or give me a confused look?*
