This is a weird one. The server works fine under a wireless connection. But, when I plug directly into my router, it refuses to work... just says Polling constantly. Everything else internet still works, but not the server.

Why not go wireless? Because windows 8. I get this bullcrap limited connection thing alllllll the time, and the server stops working when I get it. I've tried fixing the limited connection to no avail.

So I figured, hey, I can just plug directly in right? :p Nope. Anybody experienced this before?

If it helps, it usually goes to limited after [username] moved wrongly [username] disconnected. But not always, and not always when someone moves wrongly.

It's fios, only one router and one modem, and they're the same. Maybe resetting it though, didn't try that. I'll see if it works.

I had a similar problem with my laptop.
It's likely your network drivers have become corrupted/unreadable. Or there's been damage to the connection port/card within the server hardware.

brand new computer, probably isn't any damage to it.... but I guess I could try reinstalling the drivers

assuming there is though, how do you find out if there is a fault in the hardware aside from replacing it? Still keeping in mind that normal internet functions fine while plugged in.

ftb server running on wireless, want to switch to hard wired to the back of my computer through an ethernet cable. Get polling... and then can't connect to the server while plugged in and wireless off.

No, the setup, not the problem.
Example:
The server is on Computer A. You are trying to play from Computer B.

Computer A hardwired running server. Computer B same network, on wireless, can't reach server.

Please don't hate me, but I have to ask.

You are obviously specifying the Hardwired IP address in Minecraft when the server is hardwired and not the same IP it has when it is wireless?
