I have a DVR (based on windows media center) currently acting as my 152wgt server. (specs below)

I'm starting to have video card heating issues. Using EVGA Precision I can monitor temps and usage. On server start I see the GPU get maxed out and again when ever someone connects, disconnects, or changed worlds (mystcraft) there is only me and my wife playing on the server at the moment, and we've added 3 mods to the server (tick profiling -server only- backpacks mod -the same as in Jadedcat's pack- and NumiRP -for gems-)

I need to know if anyone else has seen this kind of behavior

And now... our characters have been wiped.... again.. thank god I kept a backup, it's a little old, but we'll live. on a side note, does anyone know of a mod that will auto backup the server world?

Specs:
Intel C2Q q6600
8GB DDR2 6400, 4GB for the server
Plenty of HDD space, SSD boot/swap drive
Nvidia 430 G w/1gb GDDR5 GRAM

Minecraft server doesn't normally use the GPU at all.

Can you copy and paste the contents of the startup file? I have seen odd performance issues on some machines because of extra flags that aren't needed that are default in FTB.

fairly simple:
java -Xms2G -Xmx4G -jar ftbserver.jar nogui

Try this: java -server -Xms4G -Xmx4G -jar ftbserver.jar nogui

I honestly don't know why your GPU usage is spiking, I would have suggested Tick Threading, but its only useful if your CPU usage is high.

I tried installing tick threadding into the FTB, but I failed miserably.. I was not able to find any info on installing it, just the mod's git hub.
