I have a small server that I run 24/7 and it runs great with the issue being that I still am getting the Server can't keep up" message and I am not sure where ftb manages the yml folder to disable it as well as the fact of if everything is running fine (only a max of 7 - 8 people on at the most) why the message is still flowing steadily through my log and a sudden lag spike out of nowhere every great once in a while. I have the server separated on to two cores of my i5 2500K thats overclocked to 4.5 on stock voltages, and the client separated to the other two cores and have 16 Gigs of RAM that I have 8 dedicated to this server. My suspicion is that my players have a love of automating all they do in FTB and this might be causing an issue but I am not sure any thoughts?

(also plan to move server to a dedicated box in the summer to prevent running client and server on the same box)

"Server can't keep up" is like the common cold. At least thats what I read from other forums. ignore it. I even get it with 3 people on my server. Regardless the number of cores you have on your CPU. minecraft will only use 1. ONE! no more. Its just the nature of java. You can throw a Crysis 3 gaming rig with a Overclocked CPU that is cooled by nitrogen and you will still get "Server can't keep up."

Yes, I would suspect that too. you can make a cool auto cobble to scrap to UU matter generator 9000 really easily, but its more of a challenge to make it so that it is lag free. Greg made a thread on the IC2 forums on how to make a better less laggy system.

and as for the sudden lag spikes out of nowhere?
Yes. even out of no where. check your machines, make sure RP2 retriever are not bugging out, by dealing with overflows of overflows. make sure timers, are not set to stupid speeds, a crap ton of managers are not dealing with a crap ton of items, and finally make sure items are not spilling onto the floor with BC pipes.
As for what machines are doing it, I can't really help you without being on your server. I can only generalize.
