Request Server plugins? Where to start?

Read the
FTB no server plugins issue discussion thread.
thread and forge essentials isn't something I'm looking for meanwhile bukkit forge is outdated and MCPC+ seems to be dead.

So the question I ask, is what will make it possible for me to get plug ins on the server, and if possible please provide a link.
