server out of date (mac)

hello, i have been playing a solo ftb direwolf20 world for a few days and now i want to make it into a online server so my friend can join and play together i've watched a few videos to learn how to get it all sorted and think i finally cracked it but now when i go to make a server it makes it but has a red 1.5.2 next to the connection bars and the bars have a x through them and i hover over it and says server is out of date and when i try to join someone elses it wont let me connect?[DOUBLEPOST=1387289229][/DOUBLEPOST]like i just tried connecting to a server and it says logging in then says failed to login :bad login

Sorry, I don't mean to be rude. But are you using a cracked version of FTB?

Anyway the x means that the server version is different from the client version.
