Server lag unable to find cause

Hi, My server is suffering from server lag spikes although TPS is showing 20 most the time(During lag spike it drops to 18).

Could anyone offer any insight into this?

MCPC+ Build# 272
CentOS 6
E3 1270v2 (3.5Ghz)
32GB ram
128GB SSDs
1gbit Connection

So your saying the lag is only 10% of normal gaming operation (you said it drops to 18 TPS at those spikes)? All I can say is keep an eye what is going on with your server using Opis to assist you with finding what is creating the most of the lag then go from there. Lag like this WILL happens with modded Minecraft it is a problem if it doing this for most of time but if it just a spike here and there then I would not worry about it and keep an eye on your server.

Thanks for replying but i found the issue, Its the item ducts in thermal expansion. Now just gotta find a way to fix it.

Chances are you probably have items that is "jammed" in the section, or if it just when items are flowing in them then swap them out for the not see through ones if you haven't already.

Provide your forge logs and server.log taken during a spike. We can't help if all we know is "my server has lag spikes and plugin timings."
